What topics do you like to discuss?

A few things I like to talk about, given the opportunity…

Theatre. What makes good theatre, the show I just saw, what works and what doesn’t. Theatre has been my career and I’m not finished with it yet.

Movies. The best are the older movies, and especially bad ones. I love Casablanca and Singin’ in the Rain, but all the bad old sci fi and horror movies of the 1950s and 1960s are ripe for discussion.

They used to say, “Never talk about politics or religion,” but that’s all people seem to want to talk about these days. I prefer to talk about these topics on a theoretical basis, more than a practical/practicing one, and always enjoy a discussion of comparative religions.

What else? Anything that gets a lively discussion going, maybe with disagreement and debate, but without name-calling and personal attacks. That could be gardening or cooking, but is probably never going to be voting.
