Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?
A year ago I thought I would be starting a new theatre company (I did, on May 1), and then there would be this magical sweep into projects and performances. It didn’t happen.
Taking the time to build the structure has been useful, and now, on the cusp of a new year, I think we’re ready to start doing shows and other performances. We’ve had two requests for a Murder Mystery Dinner and I spent some time yesterday creating the foundation for that. I’m actually quite excited about the possibility.
At the same time, I have several unfinished projects that I thought would have been completed by now. The Faust recording, a cutting of the three study scenes recorded in February, is still being edited. (What’s that theory where an object never quite reaches its destination?) My Kid Again audio series is almost finished; I’m editing episode 7 but I still need audio for the teacher and just contacted someone about recording the mother’s lines, but it’s the holiday season, and, as Hedda Gabler might say, people don’t do such things over the holidays. And I had to delay the shooting of Doomsday:Password until January because I was ill during the November weekend scheduled for it.
So let’s hope the new year brings joy and happiness and completion to these projects, with the start (and finish!) of many more!
