The Future!

What are you most excited about for the future?

Are people still excited about the prospect of flying cars? I always worried about them because if you crashed in the air, then you’d fall to the ground and crash again. That seems like a bad thing to me. Also, maybe we should be more worried about human survival than aerial joy rides.

But, rather than focus on global issues, which often seem dire and on a path to worldwide authoritarianism amidst global climate disaster, if not outright nuclear destruction, I want to focus here on the local. I think creating ripples where you are is the best way to effect worldwide and cosmic change.

This is one of the reasons for starting the new theatre/performance group. Bringing together artists who might not be aware that others with their interests exist, and giving them direction and purpose, seems like a positive move. And maybe one open mic poetry night later this month may not seem earth-shaking, but to me it’s like that hard salesman’s shoe getting in the door and propping it open so more discourse can happen.

And what are we selling? Art. Poetry. And maybe a little Truth mixed in.

  1. I just want to see my sister’s kids grow up. I want to be around and alive for my mother for as long as possible. I eventually want to have enough income to start travelling again and pay off the IRS. Maybe one day I’ll find a nice lady and have kids of my own.
