Ah, Joy!

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.

A few years ago, I was having a contentious conversation with someone. She was accusing me of not wanting to help her in an endeavor, while it seemed to me that I was trying very strongly to be of assistance. At some point in the conversation, she asked, “What do you really want out of life? What would make you happy?”

That evening, I sat down and wrote a long letter to her. In it, one of the things I said that would generate happiness for me would be to make short films. As I reflected on that, I decided to buy a camera and some equipment, and do just that.

Right now, the next short film is sitting unedited on an SD card in my laptop, and a script for another is calling to me to be scheduled. On YouTube, you can watch my previous major efforts, “Wash Hans, Save Lives?” and “Push Button 2 Cross.” The latter is essentially the prequel to the first, which suggests a revenge element. I include the links here to both; let me know what you think!

A film that suddenly became more relevant during the pandemic.
