At Knife Point

I’m on vacation this week, and trying to take it easy (but still keep up my blogging streak!). The first day was travel and check-in. The second day was very relaxing for me since my fiancee slept late due to back pain from the trip.

After playing around with ChatGPT to create Socratic dialogues between Socrates and Ion about various things such as how to play blackjack and how to write a Socratic dialogue, we went out for breakfast/lunch/dinner. The one visit to a buffet satisfied all three meals.

Afterwards we went to Walmart to get some snacks and miscellaneous items. We decided to do self-check-out since the one or two lines with cashiers were quite long. Just as we were finishing, I heard someone talking very loudly in the next lane. A very skinny and very tattooed man was shouting about something; I didn’t catch it at first. My fiancée said, “Did you see his knife?” He was holding it to his own throat and yelling, “I don’t want to hurt nobody, I just want to call my mother!”

We moved quickly outside to our car. Just as we had everything loaded the police cars began arriving. We made our way out of there at just the right moment. So much for the relaxing part of the day!
