How do you feel about cold weather?
I hate the cold. In fact, in the short film I’m currently working on, the interrogator asks the captive what he thinks the worst form of torture would be. The captive (who is, shockingly, the autobiographical me) answers, “Well, I hate cold….”
One of my favorite memories of a springtime happened in Berkeley, CA. It was the end of February, not even close to the start of spring. As I emerged from the library, a familiar scent tickled my nose. I took a bigger whiff. Honeysuckle! In February! Now that’s my idea of late winter.
I’ve always like an early spring. One of my final exam questions, seeking to evaluate the students’ experience with the exam, asked how the exam was, and one possible answer was “a late April snow.” We occasionally had them when I lived in Northeast PA. I did not appreciate them at all.
Then again, this year’s early spring served up a couple of days of 80 degree weather in southwestern PA. Anyone who doubts global climate change needs to stop and look at the flowers, or plant a garden. The effects of warming or changing temps are obvious.
I like a warm winter for the heating bill, but would prefer not to roast in a summer inferno on a world devoid of plant life and drinkable water. I hope it’s not too late.
Leave me your thoughts in the comments, and please like and follow.
I am biased in favor of a cold winter. I like a little snow around Christmas. I like a crusp fall, changing leaves, etc. I really dislike very hot weather. I have a buddy who lives in Nevada and has to run his air conditioner just to get it down to 80°. I couldn’t do it. 🙂

June in Texas is the worst. I prefer a desolate plant of ice with low gravity.
