If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?
If I could be someone else for a day, I’d choose to be God.
And of course, I mean an omnipotent and all-powerful one. Or One.
Why? Because in this age when it seems that life is out of control and people are being willfully ignorant, I could fix things. For example:
All those people who are expecting the Rapture to escape the evils of the world? Prayer granted! But instead of Heaven, I’d sent them all to Venus. Yes, I know Venus has no breathable atmosphere. But one of Earth’s problems would be solved.
I’d follow that with everyone else who wants to be a martyr for a violent cause. They’d have a few seconds of staring at the skeletal remains of the Rapture people before realizing what a mistake they’d made.
Next I’d reverse the effects of global warming, so that would no longer be a future concern for humanity.
All those weapons of individual or mass destruction? With a snap of a finger I’d send them all to Jupiter. The atmospheric pressure would probably crush them all, making them unusable. Or, I could also get Biblical, and just transform them into useful tools for agricultural production; that may be more fitting.
Then I’d manifest myself to the citizens of the planet and suggest that peace and prosperity was an easy goal, as long as everyone learned to live together. Without stupidity, war, and violence, they could easily attain a lasting peace.
And then I’d become human again, to enjoy the fruits of my godlike powers.
