Share one of the best gifts you’ve ever received.
When I was a kid, I had a great interest in science. For Christmas I would get a telescope, a microscope, a chemistry set—the science interest du année—all sorts of things to expand my knowledge.
As I grew older, the gifts became more intangible. Going out for a special dinner would be the norm.
Most recently, it’s the parade of gift cards as many have stopped considering the recipient, and buy what is for themselves expedient. At the same time, I can’t complain because I can always use a free meal or something I want to buy on Amazon instead of a sweater in a color I wouldn’t even want to be cremated in.
But by far, the gift I most appreciate is my directing talent and love for the theatre. That has kept me going for 46 years. Bestowed by Fate and nurtured by wise teachers and professors, it’s the best gift I can think of.
I usually buy myself socks with anime characters or games/ accessories for my nintendo switch.
