The Wise Old Janitor

If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?

Joseph Campbell writes of the wise old man or woman who greets the hero early on in their journey and serves as a guide. Someone (Rust!) commented on one of my posts that I should play the wise old janitor in a film. So let’s mix those two thoughts with my personal philosophy for the billboard.

The graphic would feature me as a janitor in overalls standing on the left side of the billboard and holding a broom. To my right, on the otherwise blank cinderblock walls, is lettering that says “Clean up the world. Be good to each other.” I think that this nicely encapsulates my current thoughts, to return to civility and diminish the hate and violence that runs rampant in the world.

Now, of course, I had to try to generate an AI graphic to accompany this post without having to resort to Adobe Photoshop. As I expected, the results were less than stellar. Here are the best three.

I guess it didn’t get the idea that I should be on the billboard too.
I’m not quite on the left side, and I see AI still has problems with text.
Now I (or my celebrity unlookalike) is on the right, and I have to think that, “Clean told goodd the worl too other” is not exactly the best slogan to win te hearts and minds of the populace.
