Trust Your Instincts!

What skills or lessons have you learned recently?

Didn’t I just write about instincts recently? Did I learn to trust them? I guess I did this week!

A person says, “I’ve met someone,” and shows you her picture—and alarm bells go off. You see a flashing red light. Someone yells, “Captain to the bridge!” in your head. Or as I have often said, there wasn’t a red flag; the entire color guard was on the field.

That photo looked like many others I have seen, somewhat attractive, definitely filtered, maybe photoshopped, and…wait, that’s the only photo on Facebook? And the profile’s only been active for 5 months with no posts except for that same profile photo, twice? Why are all her FB friends older men, men from foreign countries, and women who are not wearing much at all? Let’s click on this friend and oh! more strippers! Abort! Abort!

She’s coming to visit? She’s already bought her ticket? You’re picking her up at the train station? Could we meet her through FaceTime or a phone call first before arriving on our doorstep for a two and a half week stay?

You asked, and now she’s not coming? And she won’t respond to you now? Hmmm….

You know what really sent my radar abuzzing? She told him, “Age is only a number”….

See the title again for emphasis!
