Describe your ideal week.
And of course, the prompt brings forth another lyrical reference:
The prompt also makes me ask what’s behind the question. Does it presume a “normal” week of working 9 to 5 (no, I won’t post that video too) followed by antics over a crazy weekend, leading to the Sunday dread and a bad case of the Mondays?
With retirement one escapes this routine, but that just means I have to create my own schedule. I still do a mental, if not physical, to-do list daily to accomplish tasks. I also try to plan for special events (such as the local Italian festival this past weekend), and find a way to go to dinner to avoid cooking at least one night a week. Within those markers, I also try to insert some time to move forward on creative projects; I managed to edit another podcast (“My Holy Armor”) and post it, so I’m up to 70 episodes.
And of course, there’s always the almost daily task of trying to figure out what day of the week it is….
Ideally, do nothing for the rest of my life.
