Irrepressible? That’s What I Are!

The title comes from an old song, “Unforgettable.”

Why I think I are—er, am irrepressible is this: Even when people around me are in dark moods, or things don’t seem to be going as well as we hoped, my sense of humor is still there lurking. Or trying to explode forth, shooting skyward from a surreal landscape. And even when I know I shouldn’t speak, I still think those crazy, witty, humorous, offbeat things I always think of in any situation. It’s hard to grind me down.

I won’t say I’m never serious. But life’s too short to repress those creative and fun impulses. And if no one wants to hear them? They’re still echoing around in my cranium.
