If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

Two plane tickets to anywhere? I think a lot of places are within my reach financially, as I plan my travel. But if you, unseen prompt person, want to hand me tickets, I would opt for Australia.

I would like to explore “down under,” including New Zealand, where the hobbits dwelled. That trip seems currently out of reach, and travel plans in the next few years suggest locations in Europe. But free tickets? Sign me up!

Of course I’ll have to pay taxes on that, huh? That always amazed me about game shows. Free money! Free prizes! A braaand new caaaaaar! And now here’s the IRS to tell you all about it! I don’t mind paying my fair share of taxes (don’t you wish everybody did?), but I hate the thought of well-meaning people getting slapped with an unexpected bill.

Oh, well. This went off the rails from the prompt, I guess? Always my socialist self trying to look behind the scenes, and here we examine the true cost of those game shows’ ratings.

Australia, though? Totally worth it for me!
