The Perfect Blendship

What quality do you value most in a friend?

The quality I most value in a friend is loyalty. That trait encompasses a variety of behaviors that I find accompanies a friendship: communication, concern, and care.

I find myself occasionally falling down on these. While I think my loyalty is constant, sometimes I don’t communicate as often as I should. This became even more necessary during the pandemic when many felt the need to check on people frequently. Occasionally I think, “Oh, no, I haven’t texted [name] in a while!” and do so. Checking in also shows concern and care.

This probably explains why, when someone stops communicating with me (“ghosting” in the current parlance) that I get upset, especially when the friendship seemed a long-lasting and close one.

What qualities do you expect from your friends? Let me know in your comments, and please like and follow!
