York, PA Businesses (5)

As I continue the march around local businesses, I feel the need to range a bit farther past the square and out Market Street. Around the corner from the library was a travel agency. I never ventured in, but I was perennially amused by their window display that featured a mustached man about three feet tall, wearing a grass skirt and a lei. Somewhere in my box of photographs I have a shot of him, and I wish I could easily locate it to include here.

And to reach a very fun place to visit on Market Street, you had to go down some steps and through a door to reveal a curio shop filled with with exotic international items. Lots of animals, including dragons, made of bronze. Plates. Urns. It was dark so my memory of it is clouded. To the proprietor’s credit, he never chased us out, though he must have known it was very unlikely that we’d ever buy anything.

My cousin Bill sent me this photo from Google Earth.
