I just received a questionnaire/survey out of the blue (as far as I know—what did I click on/subscribe to by accident or perhaps by design?).
And while completing the survey about peace in Ukraine (and wondering if the questions and answers aren’t biased to the right and toward Russia), I thought of a story idea:
A company sends out massive numbers of surveys to find people who are right for them to work with, or to manipulate. They may be classified into different groups—willing voters, likely felons, potential suicide bombers. Data drives society into cattle chutes the way the Soviets used to tell people what their jobs and careers would be.
