Last week I had a half dozen of those wrong number scam messages. Frequent readers of my blog know that I usually like to play along with them. But lately I’ve decided to play against them and see what happens.
This is an example of attempting to short-circuit their script.


I did expect some sort of, “what do you mean?” response. They generally do that when they’re trying to salvage the scam. Or maybe they hand it off to someone else. Here they just stopped.
By the way, I have twice used the reply “sure” in recent days because I saw an article online about how it’s the worst thing you can possibly text as a complete message.
