On the way home from poll worker training, with a 42-page printout of the Powerpoint presentation that made the whole session echo the sentiment of my mug, “I survived another meeting that should have been an email,” I passed the car of a cultist. He had the cult leader’s head in the rear window like he’s riding in the backseat, a host of political stickers (there goes that paint job), and a sticker that said, “My cat is a republican.”
Now this surprised me. I’m pretty sure both of our cats are independents. Besides not paying attention to CNN, even Anderson Cooper and Kaitlyn Collins, they seem fairly apolitical on a daily basis. So I began to wonder: what kind of behavior would a republican cat exhibit?
And I began to list all the things you don’t want cats to do: push breakable objects off flat surfaces, eat things if they’re declawed, rip things if they have their claws, and generally disrupt the right to a peaceful life.
A democrat cat (democat?), on the other hand, would be very affectionate and only restrict your movement by wanting to be close to you and sleep on a body part. They would even greet visitors if they (the cats) deemed them (the visitors) acceptable.
So I think my choice is clear today and everyday.

By the way, the very attractive StoryZ mug on the right is available for purchase to assist our non-profit; order yours (and more!) here.
I find the StoryZ merchandise very interesting. I started to purchase a notebook, but the shipping was $38.00. Wowza! Is that correct?

It looks like it’s made in Latvia, so that is correct. And absurd.

It would be cheaper if we lived in Latvia.
