Canned Scam

Frequent readers of my blog will have seen my encounters with the scammers who begin with the “wrong number” ploy on text messages. They then try to continue the conversation.

The most fun happens when I improv with them, either pretending to be the person they say they’re texting, or going off on some other wild tangent. This week, I was less patient, and decided to go confrontational.

“She” kept trying for a moment, sticking to the script, but in the end, just gave up. On to another potential sucker, I guess.

Oh, and the “He lives in Los Angeles” thing really confused me. Ah, genders in English—so complicated in so many ways!
