Resort to What?

This week I’m on vacation at a resort in Virginia. I’m not a big resort person so the giant water park does not appeal to me

Yesterday I decided to go for a walk and work off some of the larger meals I’ve been indulging in (though, to be fair, I have been having only 2 meals a day). I went out on the road, took a wrong turn, and really wound up on the road, with not a lot of space for safe walking. When I returned from my exploration of the main check-in building, I discovered: the walking trail!

Today I walked the trail, past woods and tennis/pickle ball court (I want to learn how to play the latter), turning around at the main building, and…back to the start already? Not much of a path. So I made the rounds several times until I reached the 2-mile mark.

Now for my strange observation. Everything looks nice on the surface—children’s playground, well-watered and manicured golf course greens…

So much water!

…and then you look over a hill and see what looks like the maintenance area for the 1978 film, Parts: The Clonus Horror.

What’s down there?

Check the movie out; I think there’s a Mystery Science Theater 3000 version.

Speaking of horror, I think there is much evidence of global climate change with areas that seem like they should have water.

No water? Could also be a location for a Star Wars film.
